Just what is this thing called "Poké"?
One of the most iconic meals of Native Hawaiian cuisine is poké (/poke/, Hawaiian meaning "to slice" or "cut crosswise into pieces"; also styled Poké to help pronunciation, sometimes called Poké Bowl), which is comprised of diced raw fish and can be eaten as an appetizer or a main course. Aku (skipjack tuna) and he'e (octopus) are two examples of traditional forms.
